What is it all about
In this category you will find a large number of options for mounting
Motorcycle Luggage Racks onto your bike. There are many different types of racks,
both for hard and soft luggage, for pannier, top boxes or just for something
to strap your tent onto.
Who makes them
Givi are seen as the market leader in their manufacture of hard luggage and Motorcycle Luggage Racks and this reputation is well deserved. However, we always like to
offer our customers a choice and although we can obtain any Givi rack for
you, we also stock racks by other manufacturers.
SW-Motech make a very
versatile racking system for a large number of motorcycles, once fitted,
this will enable you to fit luggage made by different manufacturers such as
Hepco & Becker,
Krauser and of course Givi. Hepco & Becker and Krauser
both manufacture their own Motorcycle Luggage Racks and we can supply any of these.
For those of you with a sports bike, or for those who do not want to use hard luggage, we also sell the Ventura range of racks which are specifically designed for sports bikes and will take the Ventura semi-rigid bags. Last but not least we can supply any rack from the Renntec range, these racks are primarily designed for carrying soft luggage.
What are the options
The options are many and varied, depending of course upon the bike you have.
We are more than happy to provide a personalised quotation either by email
or letter, if you provide us with the manufacturer, model and year of your
bike and your specific requirements. Fitting racks to your bike can
appear to be complex and we have the experience at Touring Biker to advise
you on the best solution for your requirements.
You may want to fit a full set of hard luggage to your bike. If your bike is one of the more popular and recent models, you will probably find that you have a choice of Givi, Krauser, Hepco & Becker and SW-Motech. However, if your bike is older, or more unusual, there is a good chance that Hepco & Becker will do a rack for it as their range is the most comprehensive of all our suppliers.
Motorcycle Luggage Racks come in many different forms, Givi do a Monorack which in conjunction with the correct top plate will enable you to fit a top box. Givi also do tubular side case holders for panniers and have just started to make a quick-release side rack for the most recent bikes which is easy to remove when you are not using your luggage. The Givi Wingrack is a rack which is designed to fit both your top box and panniers and although gradually being phased out, is still available for a large number of bikes. This needs a bike-specific fitting kit to mount to your bike. Givi also make tubular frames for soft luggage to hold the panniers away from your exhaust.
SW-Motech racks are all quick release, for more information on these please visit our manufacturer's information page.
Hepco & Becker make back racks, side racks and complete racks, which are their version of the Givi Wingrack and hold 3 boxes.
Krauser also do a comprehensive range of racks which use the K-wing fitting for their K4 and K5 boxes.
The Ventura system is very popular with bikers who do not want to carry hard luggage but do not want the inconvenience of having to strap bags onto their bike. You would need to fit bike specific L Brackets to your bike and you then have a choice of either a pack rack, which will hold a larger bag, a sports rack for a small day pack, or if you are not using your luggage, they do a neat grab rail.
If you just want to carry a small pack on the back of your bike, the Renntec rack may be for you. These are basically a sports rack to which you can strap on a tent, a bag or whatever you want, as long as it is not too heavy as they are not recommended for carrying a lot of weight.
If you are at all unsure of the parts to order, please email info@touringbiker.com or telephone on 01794 367216. Our staff are fully conversant with the Motorcycle Luggage Racks and options and will be pleased to assist you.
